Garnering support from Radio 1 and music mags such as Clash and Dork, Wild Cat Strike is a band going places. An album whose sound is country-tinged without being too twangy and with enough musical toughness that it doesn’t sound twee but isn’t all out rock, this is country rock meets indie with a smidgeon post-rock but in a way which both complement each other and blend together.
Lead single, I Feel Good, is arguably the strongest track and as a taster for the whole album is a succinct sampler if the word country is anathema to you. Coming in at just under 38 minutes, the album doesn’t outstay its welcome but the ten tracks are enough to sate the taste you’ll get for Wild Cat Strike.
A welcome discovery.
