New release from Gulls who describe themselves as ‘Sleaford Mods and Bikini Kill in a high-speed collision on the bumper cars’. This description neatly sums up a sound which is rooted in a rockier riot grrl noise but with a lyrical, verbal dexterity/anger which is a cousin to the Sleaford’s angry utterances.
If you get nothing else from this song (but you should do as it’s that good) is that we should be cynical of consumerism which is at a cost to societal needs such as libraries. When they are gone they are unlikely to be resurrected. Fiery polemic which should be played at maximum volume. A song to listen to and a band to follow. Highly recommended.
