February New Music: Round Up And Reviews

* Genn New Single – Duda Dance
Duda Dance? Well, yes I did, around the flat! Take Post Punk with added impassioned, soulful vocals and you get the new single from Genn. That of itself makes a great song but with the amount of energy the band generates in little over two and a half minutes, you’re left with an earworm and a dirty great smile on your face. Single of the week!

* Lime New Single – Surf N Turf
Feeling hungry? Chips not quite enough? Tuck into this tasty psychedelic-tinged Indie feast from Lime. Danceable Post Punk with slightly sharp lyrics. Lime live up to their name. The only trouble is you’ll want more. What’s for dessert?
Surf N Turf is released on 21st February and the release show is on Thursday 20th February at the Rossi Bar with support from Lambrini Girls.

* Plastics New Album – Plastic World
Six tracks, eleven minutes. Breathless.Crunchy guitars anchored by a tight rhythm section keep up a punishing pace with the occasional comparatively slower section to give the listener a chance to their breath. Lyrically, the songs are about pain, ennui, perception and confusion. Time is fleeting but you’ll be rewarded many times over for entering this world. Recommended.

* New Rotten Foxes Release – We’ve Got Nothing Left
A new release from the rascally ones but not heralding the band reforming alas. Three tracks, three reasons to download or stream for Punk fans. A change to incorporate jazz flute wasn’t foreseen but…not really. Punk up your ass ‘til the end. Headbang your mullet to them one last time. They’ve got nothing left but you the listener has got something to savour, three more morsels, from the former most rascally punks belt holders. Titles are vacant, who will be newly crowned?
We’ve Got Nothing Left available via Bandcamp: We’ve Got Nothing Left, by Rotten Foxes
